The Tiger Wood Saga... And It’s Jewish Lesson by Rabbi Pinchas Allouche

His tragic saga was all too familiar; His mesmerizing talent rapidly captured the world’s attention. His impeccable image of integrity gained him the respect and affection of multitudes. His solid control of the media and other intruding forces was deeply remarkable. His balanced composure along with his unequivocal success became the silent envy of his countless admirers.

Everything was picture-perfect until the day of doom caught him by surprise just a few weeks ago. Suddenly, his illustrious image exploded, his dignified reputation sunk, and his once-shining light dimmed. Tiger Woods’ life is now shattered

Twerski on Mesilas Yesharim (4 CD Set) Insightful comments on the "Path Of the Just" the basic text of living an authentic Torah Life

Mesilas Yesharim-the classic ethical guide to a true Torah life. Rabbi Abraham Twerski, M.D. wrote a commentary on Mesilas Yesharim, Lights Along the Way. Dr. Twerski has now expanded this commentary, adding many new, inspiring insights on a 4 CD set.

The Destruction of the Temple a historical background

The seige of Jerusalem that began on the tenth of Tevet is marked -- and observed each year as a public fast day -- as the event that began the downward spiral toward the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and the exile (galut) of the Jewish people from their homeland. The actual process, however, originated when the Jews began straying from G-d, long before the seige of Jerusalem.

consciously speak of only things - not people!

Their sentencing is scheduled for Monday—which means:

THAT WE SHOULD DO THIS ON SUNDAY, BECAUSE IT WILL BE MONDAY IN JAPAN!!! If we wait until Monday, we will miss the auspicious time.

Pass it on!

Ellie

Dear All,
Just an important reminder to have extra kavana next Monday for the boys in the Japanese prison. Here are their names:
Yaakov Yosef ben Raizel
Yoel Zev ben Mirel Risa Chava
Yosef ben Ita Rivka

I'm sure a lot of you are as frustrated as I am not being able to do anything constructive for the Chassidishe boys sitting in jail in Japan for the last year. Their trial was a couple of weeks ago, but the verdict is forthcoming.

How about for their zechus, we all try for one day not to speak about anyone. The Chofetz Chaim writes in his book Guard Your Tongue in the Mussar Selections (#73) "A person who finds it impossible to remain silent should at least adopt an ironclad principle not to discuss other people."

On Monday, chaf Kislev, December 7th, consciously speak of only things - not people! On that day, tell your friends that you're not speaking about anyone for the express purpose of helping those boys come home. Imagine that they are your brothers or sons.

This is what we can do constructively.
We should hear besuros tovos, b'mheira!
Malka Rochel

Pass this on to your friends!

Arutz 7
Prayers Asked for Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu

(IsraelNN.com) The family of former Chief Sephardic Rabbi Mordechai called on the public Thursday evening to pray for his recovery. The rabbi's condition has improved in recent weeks over the past few weeks but he is still in the intensive care unit of Jerusalem's Sha'arei Tzedek Hospital.

People close to the rabbi told Arutz Sheva "In recent weeks we saw miracles and improvement in the rabbi's condition but in recent days, but in recent days deterioration has begun. The rabbi needs the mercy of heaven."

For purposes of prayer, the rabbi's name is Mordechai Tzemach ben Mazal.

URGENT! TEHILLIM 4

From one of our members:

BS"D

I am so sorry to bother everyone, but please can you keep my dad in your prayers. I was only notified late yesterday afternoon that he was gravely ill (I had been on Friday, and was told Sunday he was "fine"--and did not go out) on Shabbas, was taken to the hospital on Shabbas and again on Sunday. His dementia has increased and his medical condition is worsening. He is on medication which might hasten his death, I am trying to see if I can do anything to stop the administration thereof, but have no way of knowing that I'll be able to do anything.

If you have time to say a perek of Tehillim, I would be most appreciative: Naphtali ben bessele, thanks much.
