The commentaries find it interesting that our chapter concludes mentioning the eating, drinking and rejoicing of the Jewish people. As the verse (20) says, “Yehudah and Israel were numerous like the sand that is by the sea for multitude; eating, drinking and rejoicing.” They point out that clearly there is a reason why the verse mentions eating and drinking before rejoicing. What lesson are we being taught?
