[Aneinu] More on Request from Rabbanim in Eretz Yisroel

From a friend of Aneinu in Eretz Yisroel: Yesterday was a big celebration in Beitar upon the establishment in Beitar of a special generator to provide electricity on Shabbos without resorting on Shabbos to electricity being produced by Jews on Shabbos in the regular electric company. They were honored by the historic visit of Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita, who asked Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi to speak in his name [in Rav Chaim's presence]: :"The situation in Eretz Yisroel, Hashem yerachem! is in the hands of each and everyone of us to correct the situation.Therefore the Rav shlita suggests each one refrain from all melachos at least 20 minutes earlier than usual to usher in Shabbos.** And as for Torah, not to let a day go by without learning Torah. The Torah protects and saves!" **this additional 20 minutes is to be added even in Jerusalem and Beitar, which customarily are mekabbel Shabbos 40 minutes before shekiya." --
