Member of Eida Collapses on Yomtov

HaGaon HaRav Yehoshua [ben Hinda Leah] Rosenberg, a member of the Badatz Eida Chareidis, collapsed in shul on Friday night. He went into cardiac arrest and successfully resuscitated, transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

Rav Rosenberg also serves as rav of Kiryat HaRama (Beit Shemesh Bet). He is the mora d’asra of the Satmar community in Beit Shemesh. He collapsed on Friday night during Simchas Torah hakofos. He is listed in serious/ stable condition in Hadassah Hospital tonight.

Hatzolah was first on the scene and CPR was implemented. Paramedics arrived as well and after defibrillation and intravenous cardiac advanced life support treatment, the rav was transported in serious condition to Hadassah.

A number of members of Jerusalem’s chareidi community came to the hospital on shabbos to inquire into the rav’s condition. Apparently an avreich, whose wife gave birth, made his way to Meah Shearim to inform community leaders of the rav’s hospitalization and the seriousness of his situation. Many mispalalim in different shuls stopped hakofos to begin reciting tehillim, Chareidim reports.
