YWN EMT Responds to Call Only to Learn His Daughter is the Victim

An 8-year-old girl was seriously injured in a vehicular accident in Netivot on Wednesday, 1 Cheshvan 5773. Ichud Hatzalah EMTs responded to the call. In fact, the first EMT on the scene was in shock when he immediately realized the seriously injured child was his daughter. He was not successful in maintaining his composure and when additional units arrived on the scene, they found him simply “not functioning” due to the trauma of seeing his child in such condition. According to persons on the scene, the EMT arrived and began assessing the scene. He then ran to bring equipment and it was then that he realized the victim was his child. The child was transported to the trauma unit of Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva where she was listed in serious condition.
