Nachum and Yitzchok Saftlas Discussed Dirshu, their Upcoming Siyum Celebration and their Mission to the Kever/Gravesite of the Chofeitz Chaim in Radin


Nachum welcomed Yitzchok Saftlas, President of Bottom Line Marketing Group to this morning’s JM in the AM to discuss Dirshu and to get a preview of their first siyum of their daf hayomi b’halacha, the amazing culmination of the first cycle of world-wide daily learning of halacha via the Mishna Berurah. Leading up to the big siyum, taking place in the end of March, Dirshu has various events going on including a historic trip to the city of Radin, to the kever/gravesite of the Chofeitz Chaim, the author of the Mishna Berurah. In addition, The Dirshu delegation will place a “Sefer Gibborim” at the kever of the Chofetz Chaim where it will remain in perpetuity. Dirshu is a Torah Learning organization which is structured in a way that enables participants to properly internalize what they have learned in a way that they can remember it. The program provides learning schedules and guidance to help participants with their learning. Subsequently they provide testing to encourage review of the material. Even before the Torah was given to Klal Yisroel at Har Sinai, a system of courts and civil justice was set up by Moshe Rabbenu to administer the legal process of arbitrating financial disputes according to the Halachah. A system of Battei Din was established, and the basic principles of procedure were put into place, and remain unchanged until today. Thus if someone has a financial claim against another, which this other person either denies or ignores, in the first instance one requests of Beis Din for them to issue a summons to the defendant to have the claim or dispute arbitrated by the Beis Din.

The rear door flew open, and $100 and $20 bills flew out. The drivers behind the truck raced out and collected most of the $170,000; the guard recovered $40. This article attempts to examine several aspects of this puzzling episode. In such a situation, are the drivers, in fact, permitted to keep the money? What’s more, how about the gun-toting guard? Shouldn’t he have intervened? Hashavas aveidah is one of the first mitzvos we are taught as children. Finders are not keepers - and lost property must be returned to its rightful owner. We mourn the tragic death of Rav Shalom Arush's 18-month old granddaughter, Feigie Chana ob"m, daughter of Shimon and Daniella Arush from Jerusalem. Shimon, driving home last night from the Baba Sali's yahrtzeit celebration in Netivot, was involved in a head-on collision. The baby suffered a head injury and was killed. The rest of the family - the father, mother and two siblings - are currently hospitalized in Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon. Please pray for: Rav Arush's son - Shimon Machlouf ben Miriam Varda, who is in serious condition and now being operated on. Rav Arush's daughter inlaw - Daniella bat Zehava, who is in advanced stage of pregnancy and in moderate condition. Rav Arush's grandchildren - Nachman ben Daniella and Miriam bat Daniella, also in moderate condition.

Pharaoh refused to listen, and Hashem punished the entire Egyptian nation with ten plaques, until the Egyptians were forced to let them go. Hashem liberated us, the Jews, from Egyptian slavery so that we should serve Him instead. R' Chaim Yechiel ben Malka (Rothman) remains comatose since the massacre in the Har Nof shul. . Rav Chaim was moved to the Beit Levinstein Rehabilitation Hospital, which is designed for long-term care. R' Chaim is the father of ten children. His wife Mrs. Risa Rothman reports that he is "ever so slowly" showing tiny signs of consciousness. Mrs. Rothman calls on the tzibur to be mispallel for her husband as well as doing acts of chessed in his name towards his recovery. , "Almost every morning, as I would be waiting for my ride, I had the privilege to witness Chaim Rotman running to shul wearing tallis and tefillin. Chazal teach us that we should run to do mitzvos, 'as if we are being pursued by a lion." I do not believe that I have ever seen anyone other than Chaim Rotman fulfill this directive."
