Yahalom Chicago was thrilled to have the opportunity to hear Rabbi Menachem Nissel speak this past Sunday at the home of Tuviyah and Hadassa Spector. Rabbi Nissel is a talmid of Rav Moshe Shapira and Rav Wolbe and shared a very meaningful and uplifting perspective on parenting a child with special needs. Feedback from the parents who attended was extremely positive and all mentioned how much they gained from his warm and engaging presentation.

Shaimos Burial

We are happy to relate that over 50 pallets of shaimos were brought to genizah this past week on the Camp Bnos Ma'arava grounds of the AI Campus located in Marshal, Indiana. Two 18 wheeler trucks were employed in transporting the shaimos from the Cubework warehouse in Lincolnwood to the site. In preparation for the genizah, the camp caretaker rented special excavation equipment and prepared a 25 foot deep kever for the shaimos. Rabbi Yitzchok Bider was present for the genizah and thanked the workers for the respect they showed the shaimos throughout the genizah process. Agudath Israel is proud to provide this very important community service and wants the public to remember that there is shaimos dropoff the first and last Sunday of every month (with few exceptions) at 7001 N. Central Park from 10am-12pm. throughout the year. For more information please contact Rabbi Bider at 773.315.7255.
