In response to the wonderful feedback received after the pre-release from the upcoming Lessons in Siddur Im Dach, Maamar Lehavin Inyan Tekias Shofar, and the many requests for the rest of the maamar, Sichos in English hurried to publish the final third of the maamar for our readers in time for Rosh HaShanah 5784. In this part of the maamar, the Alter Rebbe further explores the effect engendered by the mitzvah of shofar in relation to the concept of nesirah and the process of binyan hamalchus which takes place on Rosh HaShanah. The maamar then enters into a fascinating discussion regarding the ideas behind the three notes of the shofar, tekiah, shvarim, and teruah, showing how they represent the voices and individual avodahs of each of the three Avos, Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov. As the maamer explains, the shofar's sounds are the voice of our souls' cry. When we call out to Hashem by means of the shofar, the voices of the Avos found within every Jew are expressed and fuse together, eliciting boundless brachos for the coming year, both physically and spiritually. Click below to learn the full maamar and properly prepare for Rosh HaShanah as we eagerly await the "Teka B'Shofar Gadol'' of the geulah ha'amitis v'hashleimah. Ksivah Vachasima Tovah! |
