Dear Alumni and Friends,
It's hard to believe that the 2024-25 school year has come to a close. We're so proud of our students in all our divisions and we wish our graduates continued hatzlacha in the next stages of their lives. We look forward to welcoming hundreds of campers, staff and learning rebbeim to Yeshivas HaKayitz and can't wait for the excitement that will fill our walls over the summer.
We're very proud of the seniors who participated in the FYHS Names, Not Numbers Holocaust project this year. Please save the date and join us for the premiere movie screening on July 30th.
See below for more news and alumni highlights.
Wishing you a wonderful and meaningful summer!

FYHS Celebrates Year-End Siyum and Senior Awards Ceremony
On Sunday morning, June 15, FYHS held a spirited Siyum and Senior Awards Ceremony, concluding the school year with a meaningful father-and-son learning program.
Rabbi Aaron Leibtag, FYHS Principal, led the lively event, which was filled with ruach and heartfelt dancing as students expressed their hakaras hatov to our dedicated rebbeim. A special mazel tov to the more than 60 students who completed a masechta this year!
During the ceremony, awards were presented to graduating seniors, and students who participated in additional learning throughout the year received a copy of Halachic Worldviews, authored by FYHS alumnus Rabbi Tzvi Goldstein ('11). In honor of their accomplishments, Rabbi Goldstein penned a heartfelt letter to the graduating class. Click here to read

Alumnus Name: Avi Mehler
Class: FYHS Class of 2003
Where do you live: Denver, CO
Tell us about your family: I'm married with 4 kids.
What is your profession: Business Development at an Energy Company
What is your favorite memory from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
I loved the camaraderie with my classmates and Rebbeim. As a dormer, there was a special connection that I had with my fellow dormers around Shabbasim. Lots of informal learning that's shaped me. I also have a fond memory of being on the basketball team and am still in touch with Sid Singer. I'm also still in contact with a number of Rebbeim and cherish those relationships.
A lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
The Yeshiva helped me lay a foundation for the way I lead my life and raise my family. There was a big stress on Torah learning and how to treat people. They inculcated that into our education.
What advice do you have for current students:
Maximize your time there. Try to develop lifelong connections with your rebbeim. These are the people who are together with you as you develop and mature.
Anything else to share?
It is important for people to appreciate what the Yeshiva provided for them and express their gratitude. They tried to infuse and give over the best well-rounded education for a Yeshiva high school.

Alumnus Name: Yoni Gesserman
Class: FYHS Class of 2000
Where do you live: Brooklyn, NY
Tell us about your family: I'm married to Adina with 5 kids.
What is your profession: I'm an Accountant working in tax and before that, had the privilege of learning in Lakewood for 8 years.
What is your favorite memory from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
The Yeshiva gave me a strong foundation of learning Torah, enjoying it, and making time for it. I also made strong connections with Rebbeim. It allowed me to remain connected to a strong learning environment, even when I left the walls of the beis midrash. I'm still in touch with a number of the rebbeim such as Rabbi Kaminetzky. Rabbi Weiss is in the same retirement community as my parents in Lakewood. I still speak to Rabbi Schuman. I actually just showed my kids the Purim shpiel from my senior year. I still sing with my kids Mashiv Haruach U'Morid HaGeshem 100 times on Shmini Atzeres just like we did in the Yeshiva!
A lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:
The Yeshiva plays a unique role in taking talmidim from many backgrounds and giving them a strong learning foundation. It doesn't matter where a person is coming from as long as they are all going to the same place. Setting the students up for a future life as Ben Torah.
What advice do you have for current students:
My advice would be to develop meaningful relationships with Rebbeim. They help you stay true to your ideals when you leave the beis midrash to stay committed and connected.
Anything else to share?
I see the value in staying connected to the Yeshiva so the Rebbeim can see their investments into us have paid off all these years later.
