A good friend of mine from yeshiva (now in LA) had a baby a few days ago. Unfortunately, here is a summary I just got from another friend of what happened today (I changed names to father and mother):
A few days after giving birth to the baby, the mother slipped into a coma this morning. It turned out she had a stroke that stemmed from a blood clot during labor. She will hopefully survive - because they were not too sure this morning. She has suffered some permanent brain damage (RL). She will have surgery tomorrow on her brain and the extent of what her functions will be going forward will not be known for weeks. It could be anything from a limp to never being able to speak again. No way to know. Please daven for her. The husband is an absolute mess (RL) - he collapsed today at the hospital and they had to admit him. he is better now but like a walking zombie. its horrible.
PLEASE daven for her.
