Dear friend,

It's Chodesh Elul, and even if we are "Field People" we have the opportunity to bring the King into our lives by learning his Torah, with a sense of permanence in time and in spirit.

So many of your friends and colleagues have literally changed their lives, and are going into the new year with more knowledge, a stronger sense of Hiskashrus (ובו תדבקון), a more powerful Emuna (תמים תהי' . . אליו תשמעון), and a sense of victory over their Yetzer Hara (כי תצא למלחמה), all through learning Likkutei Sichos.

This is the best hachlata you could take upon yourself for the new year, beginning from today!

Ksiva Vachasim Tova!

There are really no words to describe the incredible treasure of which we catch a glimpse every once in a while. The Rebbe Hagahos (edits) on Likkutei Sichos.

The incredible amount of time, energy, focus on nuance and detail that the Rebbe invested into each and every Likkut, gives just an iota of understanding how dear and precious each sicha is to the Rebbe, and how much Nachas we are giving when we learn and delve into the Sicha.

This week, we are presenting a brand new release of the Hagahos on the Sicha of Ki Setze Beis. Almost all the Kisvei Yad, hand-written edits, from both rounds of hagahos. To explain briefly the system how it worked at the time. Generally speaking, each Sicha would go through two rounds of hagahos (edits).

First Hagaha: The sicha was prepared, based on a previous Farebrengen (or farbrengens) and typed (with a typewriter) leaving generous line spacing with plenty of room for comments and corrections. The Rebbe would correct, edit, and add, sometimes entire paragraphs. Usually the focus here was mostly on the Pshat, the content of the Sicha.

Second Hagaha: The Sicha would then be typeset into one long column with plenty of space in the margins for additional corrections. The Rebbe would then go through this new verision thoroughly. Although the focus very often here was more on details on correction, nevertheless at times, it was here that new ideas and concepts were added, all handwritten by the Rebbe. (As you can see in this example).

In this booklet, we have published almost all the hagahos from both rounds as well as prepared an explanation and elucidation (in Hebrew) of the hagahos for your learning pleasure. We are honored to have the Zechus to share this with you. We are confident that this will just increase your enthusiasm and passion for learning Likkutei Sichos.

We express our gratitude to Rabbi Yehuda Leib Schapiro, Rabbi Menachem Reices, Vaad l'Hafatzas Sichos, and all those involved in bringing this to fruition.
