This week's idea on Mishna 3.1 is written by Dalia Bornstein, cofounder of The Dee Pirkei Avot Project. Dalia and Maia were childhood friends when Maia lived in London. During their year in sem, Dalia and Libby were welcomed to the Dee's home in Efrat where they participated in learning Pirkei Avot and discussed ways to incorporate the principles into their lives.
As we enter into the third of six chapters of Mishna Avot we want to invite those who may not have participated in a while to use this as an opportunity to begin learning with us again.
At a time when Am Yisrael is in such need, it is more important than ever that we take things on in the merit of all those fighting for our homeland, both on the battlefield and beyond. By engaging with this project, we are remembering Lucy, Maia and Rina Dee z"tl and coming together to keep their flames alive in this world.
At the end of this Perek, we hope to conduct an international Siyum online in which we will mark the halfway point in our learning journey together.
It is phenomenal to see and hear of the impact that learning a Mishna over Shabbat has on the lives of individuals across the globe.
As we enter into the new month of Tevet and the third chapter of Avot, let us unite as one. 🇮🇱 עם ישראל חי 🇮🇱
