We are honoured that Rabbi Leo Dee has written the idea for the final Mishna (6:11) of Pirkei Avot.
In the wake of such immense tragedy, a cherished memory inspired this project: Rebbetzin Lucy A"H and Rabbi Leo learning Pirkei Avot with their five children. The aim was for families to come together on a Friday night to learn one idea a week, discuss its relevance to life today and how we can tap into Jewish wisdom to better ourselves. In this way, we hoped that families across the world would be inspired by the essence of the Dee family, remember the extraordinary souls of Lucy, Maia and Rina and elevate their Shabbat table each week.
We launched this as a small project for our community, never dreaming of it reaching ten thousand families around the world, in seven different languages. The Dee Pirkei Avot Project falls as testimony to how special Am Yisrael is and how, as Rabbi Dee says, we feel each others pain as if it's our own.
Whether you learnt one Mishnah or each week, we feel so genuinely honoured that you've been part of this project. We daven that our learning each week has been a tremendous Aliyah for the neshamot of Lucy, Maia and Rina and provided some comfort for Rabbi Dee, Keren, Tali, Yehuda and their extended family.
We also daven that, in light of the unthinkable tragedies that have occurred in Eretz Yisrael over the last two years, our learning has been for the zechut of those who have been tragically murdered, the safe return of our hostages, the refuah of those injured, the continued strength and bravery of our chayalim and the safety of all those in our homeland of Israel.
IYH a new cycle of The Dee Pirkei Avot Project will begin around Rosh Hashana (more details to follow) - so please stay on this group for more information if you wish to be involved again.
Thank you so much for being part of this project ❤ 🇮🇱 עם ישראל חי 🇮🇱
