Q:Can an Ashkenazi jew buy a lottery ticket and what about a sefardi jew
A:Tosfos says since their is an agreement between them and I do not know who is going to win its for fun the Rama says you can buy a lottery ticket asmachta dosnt aquire do not apply which means an ashkanazi jew can buy a lottery ticket but the Rambam holds in the case of a lottery ticket asmachta does not aquire applies so Rav Ovadia Yosef holds like the Rambam so a sefardi jew can not buy a lottery ticket
