YWN[chicago-aneinu] Chief Rabbi: Pollard’s Condition is Critical

Chief Rabbi Yona Yechiel Metzger Shlita spoke with Mrs. Esther Pollard on motzei Shabbos. The rav was briefed on Jonathan Pollard’s critical condition as he was taken to a hospital last week due to a sharp decline in his ailing health. Despite the fact that Pollard was complaining of severe pain for a number of days, officials in the US prison were unwilling to permit him to seek medical care for a number of days until his condition become too severe, compelling them to act. It appears that Mr. Pollard’s condition is critical at this time and the Jewish community around the world is urged to be mispallel on his behalf, a man who has spend most of his life in prison simply for acting to assist Israel and his people.
