Dream No More: Siyum Inspiration Leads to Historic Success
The incredible story behind Siyum partner Cross River Bank
A young French Jewish immigrant who wears a yarmulke opens a new bank. After a decade, the bank rises to national prominence, with over 200 employees and nearly $9 billion in loans originated.
Seems impossible?
That is the actual story of Teaneck based Cross River Bank, which was founded by Yaakov Gade, Chairman and CEO.
Lesser known is a life altering experience that Yaakov had back in 1997, when he was a recent immigrant. Yaakov had been learning Daf Yomi for several years and attended the 10th Siyum Hashas of Agudath Israel. He was inspired to the core. "The Siyum Hashas was a tremendous revelation…I wanted to participate in a much greater way, rather than come as a spectator," Yaakov reflects.
With incredible motivation and siyatta dishmaya, Yaakov's dream is now a reality. Cross River Bank is a proud Partner in the 13th Siyum HaShas of Daf Yomi. As historic and eye opening as the 10th Siyum was, the upcoming Siyum will iy"H be of an entirely new – previously unthinkable - level, with 350,000 yidden worldwide celebrating together the completion of Shas.
"We believe in achieving goals that others would say are far beyond our reach," says Phil Goldfeder, Senior VP of Public Affairs for Cross River Bank. "That's what the Siyum HaShas is all about."
Seats in MetLife Stadium for this unprecedented event are nearly sold out. Reserve yours before it's too late! Please visit thesiyum.org. For general information and updates, please visit thesiyum.org or text siyum to 313131.
