ALL DAF

Dear All Daf User,

We invite you to watch this two-minute video by Rabbi Mordechai Raizman, Executive Director of Associated Talmud Torahs (ATT) Chicago, discussing a lesson we learn from this week's dafim to share at the Shabbos table.

Special FeatureThe Quick Daf. Unlike any shiur of its kind, The Quick Daf caters to all learning styles as every word and pasuk is translated and explained and the basic background of the gemara/sugya is clarified. Furthermore, it is easy to follow The Quick Daf as the gemara is depicted and expounded upon in our unique trademark fashion: quick, clear, and concise.

The following Daf in Practice shiur is being presented by Rabbi Yeshai Bane:

Shabbos 53: Preventative Medicine on Shabbos

The following Daf in-Depth shiur is being presented by Rabbi Moshe Schwed:

Shabbos 52: Shinui Ma'aseh L'Kalkel (Machlokes R' Yehuda V'Rabanan)

Take care and have a wonderful Shabbos,

Moshe P. Schwed
Director, OU Daf Yomi Initiative

Strengthening Torah Life. Advocating for the Community. Serving Each Individual.
Please share this information with family or friends who do not have email or internet access.

If you, a family member, or friend would like to receive emails from the Agudah email reception@agudah.org
News from the Agudah:

  • The virtual Yarchei Kallah on Inyanei Tefilah continues today with a shiur from Rabbi Shmuel Gelley at 12:00 pm EDT on Porch and Zoom Minyanim. Please see below for call in information. We're already working on organizing next week's schedule which will include shiurim from Rabbi Yitzchok Zilberstein and Rabbi Nissan Kaplan.

  • Before Pesach, our Communications department asked Rabbi AD Motzen, director of state relations, to share with us what the Agudah was busy with at the time. He recorded a voice note the night of the Rebbe's petirah, and with all the tumult following, the voice note wasn't sent until yesterday. With his permission, we'd like to share it with you, to give a "behind the scenes" glimpse of what life at the Agudah looks like. Click here to listen to the voice note.

  • To help all the lomdei hadaf, Ki Heim Chayeinu would like to share some Daf Yomi resources from the resource directory compiled by the Daf Yomi Commission. You can see the full list of resources at dafyomidirectory.org/resources. One such resource is the 8-minute Daf program. It's a unique program with clear, illustrated, and concise recap videos sent out through WhatsApp every day. For more information, visit www.8minutedaf.com. As we make our way through Shabbos, and, soon, into Eiruvin, these resources may be invaluable to your Daf Yomi learning.

  • We once again urge anyone who didn't complete the census to do so as soon as possible as funding for your community is directly impacted by census information. You can fill out the census on my2020census.gov, by calling 1-844-330-2020, or by mailing back the questionnaire. Learn more at Agudah.org/census. If you need help completing the census, please call the Agudah office census hotline at 212-797-9000, extension 218.

  • Last night, Bnos One on One had a virtual big and little sister event with over a 100 pairs of girls. The program included Tehillim, a brachos party, a Bnos sefirah song, games, and a story. The girls were very excited to interact with each other in these trying times.

  • The Conference of Agudah Midwest Rabbanim convened a call for their member Rabbonim this week in which they discussed how to maintain a shul without walls; keeping their congregants engaged; and new programming ideas for all the members of their Kehillos.

  • We would like to share a very powerful article that was written by Rabbi Avi Shafran, our director of public affairs, titled "How Coronavirus Sparked an Open Season of Hate for Haredi Jews." Click here to view and download the article.

  • In case you missed it, here is the link to the video of the Azkarah for the Novominsker Rebbe ZTVK"L that we organized on Tuesday evening.
