Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Scam in our neighborhood (WRP)

Someone on our block was robbed by a scam that has been circulating in our neighborhoods (WRP). A man knocked on the door saying he was part of a construction crew working next door (or on the house directly behind the alley). Supposedly, when the construction crew were on the roof, they noticed a problem with the target homeowner's house, which he wants to show him to discuss. When the homeowner leaves his house to go in the backyard to look at the issue with the scammer, he doesn't lock his door, since he is only going to his backyard for a short while. Unfortunately, while the scammer shows the homeowner the "problems" In the backyard, another accomplice enters the house and robs the home.

I was told that this scam has been happening in Skokie. It happened in broad daylight on our block. It is something that anyone could fall for. BE CAREFUL!!!
