Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Please Say your Tehillim on Shabbos - Message

BS"D

Dear Aneinu Members,

We experienced a big scare, and then a great and miraculous chesed, with the disappearance and then finding of little 6 year old Yosef Shapiro, in NY. Just this past Wednesday, news came out that a camp had realized that one of their campers was missing from their buses leaving a park in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Hundreds of volunteers rushed to the scene, and searched for little Yosef for 6 hours. Night had fallen, and it had started to rain, and the worry mounted. All over the world people were davening and saying Tehillim for this precious little boy. One of the volunteers, an older man who was concerned about his own health after being drenched in the rain, was getting ready to leave the search, but decided to take a few more minutes to go down a little dirt path he had discovered. That is when he heard a little voice saying "Tatty". It was pitch black and he couldn't see, so he called for more volunteers to come to his location. Chasdei Hashem they found little Yosef in a marsh, unable to walk, just 25 feet from the Atlantic Ocean.

The head of the police said that there was a good chance Yosef wouldn't have survived if those volunteers hadn't found him. He told the volunteers that what they did that night was G-dly. A huge Kiddush Hashem!

Hashem communicates with us in many ways. This elderly volunteer made one last effort, going above and beyond what he felt he was capable of. It was that effort that made the difference. Maybe we need to try to go above and beyond what we think we are capable of in our service of Hashem. We also feel lost, and we are also calling out for our "Tatty" to find us and bring us home. It is Elul. This is the time to make every effort to connect to our Heavenly Father. Who knows, maybe it is that one last extra effort that will make the difference, and our "Tatty" will finally be able to bring an end to this long dark golus, and bring us all home.

Please remember to say your Tehillim on Shabbos. You may check the Shabbos Tehillim spreadsheet if you are unsure which kappitlach you signed up for.
