The 29TH Yahrtzeit (Anniversary of passing) of 3 Tammuz, 5783 | June 21-22, 2023 By the Grace of G-d Dear Mr. Chroman, Twenty-nine years after his passing, the Rebbe's presence is felt more strongly than ever. His teachings, his insight and his guidance—uncannily fresh and relevant, as if imparted today—inspire, illuminate and transform countless lives worldwide. In one manner or another, every one of our lives is affected by his visionary leadership and boundless love. On the 29th anniversary of his passing (Wed. night-Thu., June 21-22), let's celebrate and internalize the Rebbe's vision. Let's honor his life's mission to bring goodness and kindness into this world. Let's each do at least one more mitzvah, one more good deed, to make this world a better place. And since this is a Hakhel year—dedicated to gathering together to learn Torah and inspire each other—let's get together with friends to learn a teaching of the Rebbe and explore ways in which we can grow as agents of goodness in this world. Also: Throughout the millennia, the holy resting places of the righteous—our patriarchs and matriarchs, as well as those of our great sages—have served as spiritual oases for our people, providing solace and blessing through prayer and introspection. During his lifetime, the Rebbe would frequent the resting place of his father-in-law, the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneersohn, of righteous memory, where he would stand and pray for hours on behalf of the many thousands who sought blessing and advice. Nowadays, the Rebbe's resting place is full of prayerful visitors year-round, and many more send their prayer and blessing requests to be placed there. This week, Chabad.org team members will join tens of thousands—who will bear the prayers of millions—at the Rebbe's resting place. It would be our honor to bring letters and blessing requests on behalf of you and your loved ones. When writing, it is proper to include the Jewish names of the people for whom we request blessings, as well as their mothers' Jewish names. (For those who are not Jewish, the custom is to include the person's father's name along with their own.) It is also customary to commit to add one more mitzvah, as a vehicle of merit to receive G-d's blessings. May G-d bless us all that our collective acts of goodness hasten the arrival of our world's long-awaited righteous Moshiach, at which time we will be reunited with our beloved Rebbe and all of our loved ones!
