Dear Friend,

You are part of a growing community of women joining together monthly on Rosh Chodesh for inspiration and connection. Rosh Chodesh Tammuz is always a two day Rosh Chodesh, with Sivan being a complete month of thirty days. Tammuz is always an incomplete month of twenty nine days. The messaging in the length of the months speaks to the theme or the message of the month. Chodesh Sivan is the month of receiving the Torah, a month that we'd like to extend forward. The month of Tammuz contains the 17th of Tammuz, a day of cataclysmic events including the Sin of the Golden Calf and the breaching of the walls of Yerushalayim. The wisdom of the calendar design reflects where our values are centered - where our focus is spiritual development and growth. May this year's Chodesh Tammuz be a harbinger of the ultimate redemption.

Please join the OU Women's Initiative at ou.org/women/rc today at 12 noon EST for our virtual Rosh Chodesh Tammuz shiur with Mrs. Yael Gelernter.

Yael Gelernter, a Queens native, has been in the field of Jewish education for almost 20 years. Although all aspects of Judaism are exciting, Tanach is her passion. She has taught in NCSY, SKA, Ulpanat Orot, Tiferet, MMY, and Tomer Devora. She currently lives in Ramat Bet Shemesh with her family.

Chodesh Tov,
