Spotlight on Speaking Out
Chanukah Day 5
Today is the fifth day of Chanukah, a bright Jewish and Zionist holiday. This week, in partnership with Shine A Light, The American Zionist Movement is focusing on the different aspects of Zionism. Over the past two months, we have seen the reality of how Anti-Zionism is a form of antisemitism. What better way to combat the hate, than to Shine A Light (pun intended) on the positive attributes of Zionism.
Today we focus on Speaking Out in the Zionist movement. Within AZM we have member organizations, from across the broad ideological spectrum of our community, which engage in advocacy and raising their voice for Israel and Zionism.
The Maccabees fought to defend our faith and land. Today we must all be "modern Maccabees" in defending Israel and the Jewish people in communities and on campuses. Through the AZM Zionists of all backgrounds and beliefs come together in support of Israel and Zionism and to combat Anti-Zionism and Antisemitism.

The AZM Task Force on Combating Anti-Zionism presents links to resource materials explaining Anti-Zionism and its connection to antisemitism.
The American Zionist Movement (AZM) is comprised of 45 national Jewish Zionist organizations and works across a broad ideological, political and religious spectrum linking the American Jewish community together in support of Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.
AZM is the U.S. Zionist Federation in the World Zionist Organization.
