Dear Chossid,
This Shabbos is the Shabbos that precedes the holy day of Chof-Beis Shevat, the 36th Yarhzeit-Hilulah of our Rebbetzin, of righteous memory. Shabbos blesses the days of the coming week - מיניה מתברך כולהו יומין - and therefore it is an opportune time to intensify our preparations. (Attached is the Sicha of Shabbos Yisro 5752, in which the Rebbe discusses the specialty of this Shabbos.)
PRINTABLE RESOURCES FOR SHABBOS:
To assist in preparing for and marking Chof-Beis Shevat, Vaad Or Vechom has prepared a website that includes many relevant resources, such as learning material, videos, articles in English and Hebrew, Mishnayos, and more. To explore the full site, visit ChofBeisShevat.com. Below is a list of material you can print for your home, school or Shul for Shabbos:
- The Sicha of Shabbos Parshas Yisro 5752, where the Rebbe discusses the specialty of this Shabbos.
- The Family Farbrengen consisting of 5 stories with suggested lessons and family talking points.
- Chof Beis Shevat magazine from A Chassidisher Derher.
FARBRENGEN AT THE OHEL:
In the Rebbe's words at the conclusion of the Shiva for the Rebbetzin, "It is customary to conduct a Chassidishe Farbrengen for the elevation of the Neshama. It should be done in a beautiful and dignified manner and with many participants - as many as possible."
Don't miss the central Chof Beis Shevat Farbrengen at the Ohel on Thursday, Chof Beis Shevat at 9:00 PM.
Live Webcast: Those who are unable to be Mishtatef Bigashmiyus, are encouraged to participate in the live broadcast which will take place online at Chabad.org/OrVechom starting at 9:00 PM EST.
KEREN HACHOMESH
To donate to Keren Hachomesh, set up by the Rebbe following the Rebbetzin's histalkus, click here. In 5750, the Rebbe suggested donating in the number of 470, the gematria of the Rebbetzin's holy name. It would be appropriate to put out a pushka to collect donations for this fund on Chof-Beis Shevat.
Wishing you and your family a good Shabbos, with the hope and prayer that we merit the fulfillment of 'והקיצו ורננו גו, Umalkeinu Berosheinu. Amen.
Vaad Or Vechom Hahiskashrus
