YWN [chicago-aneinu] HaGaon HaRav Yitzchok Zilberstein Shlita Hospitalized

HaGaon HaRav Yitzchok Zilberstein Shlita, rav of Bnei Brak’s Ramat Elchanan neighborhood, a member of the Degel HaTorah Moetzas Gedolei HaTorah and a son-in-law of Maran Rav Elyashiv ZT”L has been hospitalized. He was admitted to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer in Tel Aviv on Sunday, 8 Elul 5772 after suffering “a minor cerebral incident”. The rav told gabbaim since Thursday that he was not feeling well and he limited leaving his home. On shabbos, he did go to shul but he was not feeling well. The situation worsened on Sunday and the rav was taken for testing, leading to the diagnosis. Those who attend seudas shlishis with the rav explain that he generally speaks at length and very powerfully at seudas shlishis but this week, he spoke for a few brief moments and his voice was lower, softer and at times shaky. Reports from the hospital indicate the rav’s condition is good at this time. The tzibur is asked to be mispallel for Yitzchok ben Rochel for a refuah shleima b’soch cholei yisrael. Deputy Health Minister Rav Yaakov Litzman was among the rav’s visitors on Monday evening. (YWN – Israel Desk, Jerusalem)
