November 23, 2021 | 19 Kislev, 5782 | | STATEMENT FROM AGUDATH ISRAEL OF ILLINOIS Agudath Israel Congratulates Mike Kelley | | Agudath Israel of Illinois (AIOI) wishes to congratulate Mike Kelley on his appointment to the Illinois House of Representatives, to represent the 15th District. The 15th House District is home to thousands of Orthodox Jewish constituents and Mr. Kelley has expressed a desire to cultivate a close working relationship with AIOI and the community it serves. Kelley is a dedicated veteran of the Chicago Fire Department and has a long history of volunteerism. The near unanimous support he received from a diverse group of committeemen is a testament to the leadership skills he demonstrated and the relationships he has cultivated. AIOI also extends its heartfelt gratitude to outgoing State Representative John D'Amico for his service and friendship over the decades, and wishes him much success on the next chapter of his career. Prior to Mr. Kelley's appointment, Rabbi Shlomo Soroka, AIOI's director of government affairs met with Mr. Kelley to discuss some priorities of the Orthodox Jewish community.
