Please have extra Kavanah (concentration) for the situation in Ukraine.
Monday, June 20 – כ"א סיון
Tehillim 116
Some[1] say that this perek is David thanking Hashem for saving his life from the hands of Saul. (It is interesting to note that although David was tormented by Saul, when it was finally reported by Saul's killer to David that Saul was killed, David had the proud bearer of this news killed.)
Others[2] say that this is the soul of the "Benoni", the average person, at the Final Judgment, which takes place just before the resurrection, to determine which souls will come back to life. The soul of the "Benoni" thanks Hashem for allowing it to be resurrected.
Still others understand that David HaMelech wrote this psalm prophetically about some future time that Klal Yisrael as a whole will be persecuted by other nations and it will feel alone in the exile, but never the less praises Hashem for hearing their cries.
Segula for this perek: That one should not die an unusual or a sudden death. (From the Sefer Shimush Tehillim attributed to Rav Hai Gaon (969 -1038).)

1. I wished that Hashem would hear my voice [in] my supplications.
2. For He extended His ear to me, and I shall call out in my days.
3. [When] bands of death surrounded me and the boundaries of the grave befell me, and I found trouble and grief,
4. And I called out in the name of Hashem, "Please, Hashem, save my soul!
5. Hashem is gracious and righteous, and our God is merciful.
6. Hashem protects the simple; when I was poor, He saved me.
7. Return, my soul, to your rest, for Hashem has dealt bountifully with you.
8. For You have rescued my soul from death, my eye from tears, and my foot from stumbling.
9. I shall walk before Hashem in the lands of the living.
10. I believed so that I spoke; I humble myself exceedingly.
11. I said in my haste, "All men are liars."
12. How can I repay Hashem for all His favors upon me?
13. I shall lift up a cup of salvations, and I shall call out in the name of Hashem.
14. I shall pay my vows to Hashem now in the presence of all His people.
15. Difficult in the eyes of Hashem is the death of His pious ones.
16. Please, Hashem, for I am Your servant; I am Your servant the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my thongs.
17. To You I shall slaughter a thanksgiving offering, and I shall call out in the name of Hashem.
18. I shall pay my vows to Hashem now in the presence of all His people,
19. In the courtyards of the house of Hashem, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Halleluyah!
