Dear Talmidim and Friends,
It's remarkable that our Yeshiva has reached this tremendous 100-year milestone. This is a very special time for our Yeshiva and our community as a whole. It's especially meaningful for me as my family has been connected with our Yeshiva for the past 97 years. My father, Joseph Friedman z"l, started as a 12 year old student in the Yeshiva in 1926 on the West Side of Chicago and learned under the famous Roshei Yeshiva ZT"L, Rabbi Herzl Kaplan, Rabbi Zelig Starr, and Rabbi Chaim Dovid Regensberg. These rabbanim were his heroes and throughout his life he went to ask their advice and guidance.
Our Yeshiva is truly fortunate to have taught thousands of talmidim and they in turn are teaching Torah across the world. Our graduates are found throughout the world, occupying prominent positions in the rabbinic world and in many professions and are leaders in their communities. Many of the great rabbanim and many of the greatest machzikei Torah of our generation are our own talmidim. You would be hard pressed to find a city without the influence of an HTC and Fasman Yeshiva High School graduate.
I look forward to greeting you at our Centennial Gala iyH on June 4th on our own Yeshiva Campus to celebrate HTC's rich history and promising future.
Wishing you a Chag Kasher V'Sameach, | | Rabbi Avraham Friedman Rosh HaYeshiva Emeritus
