Public Safety Alert - Shooting Dear Neighbor, The police notified me of a shooting that occurred yesterday evening on the 6200 block of N. Francisco. The victim was shot in his car around 10:50 PM. He then drove away from the scene and crashed near Kedzie and Devon. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he died from his wounds. According to the police, this appears to be an isolated incident and does not pose increased risk to the community at large. It is an active investigation, and anyone with information should call the Area 3 Bureau of Detectives at (312) 744-8263. Public safety is my greatest priority and any shooting in our neighborhood is unacceptable. I will continue to communicate with the local commanders to make sure our police districts are fully staffed and our community has all of the resources it needs to stay safe. Sincerely, Debra L.
