| | Rabbi Shmuel Fuerst Visits the Bais HaVaad | | On Tuesday, March 6, Harav Shmuel Fuerst Shlita, esteemed Dayan and Rav of Agudas Yisrael of Peterson Park in Chicago, IL, visited the Bais HaVaad to deliver a chabura.
During his visit, Harav Fuerst delivered an insightful chabura to the kollel and Dayanim, tackling a range of challenging topics across "Daled Chelkei Shulchan Aruch". These included considerations around fertility treatments for couples, the parameters of kol isha, inyanei geirus, and the nuances of halacha in modern contexts like day schools and using ride-sharing services for dates.
During the visit, the Bais HaVaad was honored to have Rabbi Fuerst affix a mezuza on one of the doors of the new building. | | | Mental Health Kollel Starts New Sugya | | On Sunday, March 3, the Mental Health Professionals Sunday Kollel started learning Hilchos Sotah, The weekly chabura is hosted at Bais Havaad headquarters, and is also accessible via Zoom.
This Kollel is led by Rabbi Yehoshua Greenspan, Director of the Medical Halacha Center, and by Rabbi Yehoshua Grunwald. | | | Inaugural Shalom Bayis Course for Women | Dr. Shaya Ostrov is leading a shalom bayis course for 15 select women, including kallah teachers and professionals, addressing the increase in broken homes observed and being dealt with by the Bais Din. These trained individuals will IY"H offer their expertise to the community. | | | Brooklyn Yeshiva Visits the Bais HaVaad | | A 12th-grade class from YDE in Brooklyn, led by their teacher Rabbi Safdie, recently visited the Bais HaVaad for an insight to the workings of the Bais Din.
Bringing their current study of Maseches Gittin to life, the visiting 12th-graders participated in an interactive workshop on the writing of a get, conducted by Rabbi Yosef Dovid Josilowsky in the Bais HaVaad's state-of-the-art Bais Din chamber. Additionally, Rabbi Mordechai Fuchs engaged with the students, further enhancing their visit. | | | Therapists Convene with Novominsker Rebbe at Bais Havaad | This past Sunday, around 50 therapists gathered at Bais Havaad in Lakewood to meet with the Novominsker Rebbe, Rav Yisroel Perlow Shlit"a. Thanks to Dr. R' Chaim Neuhoff and R' Yiddy Fleisher for organizing and moderating. The Rebbe discussed the function of guilt in Avodas Hashem, approaches to kedusha conflicts, the meaning of suffering, and the role of frum mental health professionals, among other topics. | | | New Shiur by Rabbi Honigwachs | On March 5th, an exciting new shiur series delivered by Rabbi Honigwachs commenced at the Rosenberg and Bernath accounting office in Lakewood. In Monsey, the Chabura takes place at Rabbi Chaim Zev Levitan's shul. Bais Yosef Meir, under the leadership of R' Shabsy Ledereich, convening on Sundays. Meanwhile, in the Five towns, the sessions are held at CedarWorks, with Rabbi Chaim Zakutinsky at the helm, meeting daily on workdays in the morning. | | | Rabbi Yehoshua Grunwald recently released "Zachor L'Avrohom," a comprehensive guide on the first half of Sefer Chafetz Chaim, now available in seforim stores. This sefer was written by the Wolfson Family in memory of the late Rav Avrohom Wolfson zt"l a great friend of the Bais HaVaad who dedicated much of his life to furthering the teachings of the great Chafetz Chaim zt"l.
