By the Grace of G-d Dear Mr. Chroman, Shavua tov and Shanah Tovah! The 19th and 20th of Kislev (this year Shabbat and Sunday, December 5-6) are widely marked as the anniversary of the "birth" of Chassidim, when the long-hidden secrets of Judaism emerged from the womb of mysticism to illuminate and transform the totality of Jewish life. Celebrated worldwide as the "Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism," these days are marked with personal and communal learning as well as public gatherings – this year primarily virtually – to explore and apply the "inner soul" of Torah to our daily lives. Two of the primary annual observances are to communally complete (and divide up for the following year) the entire Talmud, and to personally begin anew the daily study cycle of that hallowed and famous guide to inner life known as "the Tanya." We'd like to extend a special invitation to you to join our amazing teachers and mentors to study this seminal work with us this year, complemented by a host of online resources. Below you can find a sampling of these study aides – which we hope will make the priceless book of Rabbi Shneur Zalman, founder of Chabad Chassidism, even more accessible than ever. We wish you and yours a "Happy Chassidic New Year" – a Shanah Tovah! Sincerely, The Chabad.org Team |
