Increased Police Attention on Synagogues and Places of Worship Dear Neighbor, I am horrified by the ongoing crisis in Texas, where a Rabbi and congregants are being held hostage in their own synagogue. I have spoken with the Mayor and local commanders. There is no known threat to our community. However, the police are out in force with heightened security on our local synagogues and all places of worship. A synagogue should be a safe space and never a scene of terror.
