Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Please Say your Tehillim on Shabbos
BS"D
Dear Aneinu Members,
It seems that so many things that we always took for granted, suddenly don't seem as dependable as we thought. This week we mourned the loss of another two police officers in NY, as crime seems to be soaring in cities across the country. Our justice system is broken, as hardened criminals are freed from prison only to commit more crimes. People are allowed to loot stores without fear of consequences. Our government, on federal and local levels, seems to have lost its moral compass, and in Eretz Yisroel, Torah is under attack. Covid continues to wreak havoc on our medical system, and people are starting to accept that it is here to stay. Anti-semitism is growing worldwide, and now we are watching a face-off between Russia and America over the Ukraine. We are seeing a world that is ripe for the coming of Mashiach!
Dovid HaMelech says, "When the wicked bloom like grass and all the doers of iniquity blossom, it is to destroy them until eternity." (Tehillim 92) Does this sound like it is describing our world?
The Chofetz Chaim said, "Before Moshiach comes, Hashem will stretch a rope from one end of the world to the other and shake it vigorously…. These turbulent times are testing our faith in Hashem. We must hold on tightly until the end."
These words sound like they were meant for our generation! Hashem is sending us a loud and clear message that we have no one to rely on other than Avinu Shebashamayim, our Father in Heaven. We need to strengthen our emunah and bitachon, and our recognition of EIN OD MILVADO, there is only YOU Hashem! We need to hold on to the rope! Please Hashem, bring Mashiach, reveal Your glory to the world, and end the chilul Hashem!
"Man's haughty look shall be brought low, and the pride of mortals shall be humbled. None but the LORD shall be exalted in that day."
(Isaiah 2:11) May we be zoche to see it very soon!
Please remember to say your Tehillim this Shabbos! As the days are now much shorter, it is perfectly fine to say your Tehillim on Friday night. You may check the Shabbos Tehillim spreadsheet if you are unsure which kappitlach you signed up for.
Wishing you all a beautiful Shabbos,
Chaya Miriam
