Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Please Say your Tehillim on Shabbos

BS"D

Dear Aneinu Members,

This week, in Parshas Bo, Hashem commands Moshe to "Come to Pharoah."  The question is asked, why doesn't Hashem say to "go" to Pharoah? Why does Hashem use the word "come"? According to Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, zt"l, Hashem is telling Moshe to come with Him, and together they would go to Pharoah. Wow... Hashem was telling Moshe that he was not alone, that Hashem would be with him and, therefore, he did not need to be afraid. This is a message that Hashem is sending to every Jew, that we need to plant deep within our hearts. Hashem is always with us. We are never alone. Yes, Hashem is hiding behind a curtain that we call  teva,"nature". Our job is to find Him, and He is everywhere. He is in the call of the flock of geese flying over our heads, the shining rays of the sun, the crashing waves of the ocean, the rustle of the leaves as the trees sway in the wind, the glitter of the snowflakes in the glowing light of the moon. Hashem created this beautiful world for us. Our job is to discover Him, everywhere, and in everything.

It's not always an easy task. Sometimes the world can seem like a dark, chaotic, and scary place, and life can be very confusing. Especially, these days. We are bombarded with choices, and it's not easy to know which is the correct path to take. That is when we have our opportunities to remind ourselves that Hashem is with us, and we need to daven to Him to send us clarity and help us to make the right decisions. The most important thing to remember is that Hashem is in control, and we are only doing our hishtadlus. The outcome is in Hashem's hands. We can only do our best, and then trust that Hashem will do whatever is best for us.

Please remember to say your Tehillim this Shabbos! As the days are now much shorter, it is perfectly fine to say your Tehillim on Friday night. You may check the Shabbos Tehillim spreadsheet if you are unsure which kappitlach you signed up for.
