Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Important Message
From an Aneinu member:

I was recently in a non-Jewish store that many frum women frequent, and the cashier mentioned that she and the staff had witnessed frum women acting in a way that left them in shock.

I am mentioning this to remind people that we have to be especially careful with how we behave, especially in public, and realize that we are being observed, and can easily create a chilul Hashem. This was definitely the case in this instance. I feel that this kind of activity creates anti-semitism and bad feelings toward Jews. We all have the responsibility at all times to create a KIDDUSH Hashem, and need to be especially aware of our behavior as there is so much anti-semtism in the world around us. Please remember that your actions, speech, and behavior affects all of us!

Some things we should be careful with when shopping:

Speaking in a calm and respectful manner.
Giving others the right of way.
Not bumping into people .
Smile and be friendly.
Not being demanding.
Saying Thank You.

A great book to learn at the Shabbos table is, A Life Worth Living, by Rabbi Shraga Freedman, stories and ideas for constant Kiddush Hashem.

Thank you for listening
