Arrests Made for Recent Carjackings | | | | Dear Neighbor,
The police arrested two suspects in connection with a series of armed robberies that happened yesterday in the 50th Ward. The 24th District Police, in coordination with the Citywide Vehicular Hijacking team, located a carjacked vehicle on the South Side of Chicago. Two juveniles were taken into custody and firearms were recovered.
The juvenile subjects have been charged with Vehicular Hijacking, Robbery and Unlawful Possession of Firearms. Area 3 Detectives are still investigating additional incidents. Thank you to Commander Joseph Brennan, Sgt. Syed Quadri, and all of the 24th District officers who worked this case.
Like you, I am absolutely fed up with the increase of crime in our neighborhood. Hundreds of you have sent me written testimonials for the Mayor and Police Superintendent demanding more resources and additional police attention in our community. I have a meeting with the police leadership this afternoon to share your requests.
