Parshat Noach with Reb Chaim Kramer

BRI WEEKLY UPDATES
Despite the recurring and changing alarms, and despite the morale that the enemies of Israel try to undermine for us, this week I had the privilege to participate in the wedding of my dear grandson, Reb Gedalia Aharon, son of my daughter Miriam Koenig in Beit Shemesh.

At the wedding, we made an effort to dance and rejoice with all our might to sweeten the judgments upon the people of Israel, and thank God, the wedding was very joyous.

May we merit to fully subdue our enemies through the merit of joy.
After sending the email last week, I received responses and inquiries from people about ideas for sweetening judgments, such as strengthening the recitation of 'Amen Yehei Shemei Rabbah' out loud, observing the Sabbath, love for Israel, modesty, acts of kindness, and more.

All of these are true and correct ideas.

Everyone should strengthen themselves in what they can, and it is incumbent upon us to do whatever we can in all of this.

The purpose of my writing was not the sole point that we need to strengthen; the idea was several basic principles known from Rebbe Nachman's teachings.

I simply reawakened them, but, of course, anyone who merits to strengthen themselves in whatever they can is a tremendous merit and a real salvation for the people of Israel.

May it be God's will that we see the true redemption immediately, amen.

BRI PARSHAH TIDBITS
In Parshat Noach (Chapter 9), we learn that God made a covenant with the world never to destroy it again. This covenant is symbolized by the rainbow, a beautiful array of colors that shines brightly after the rains.

Kabbalistically, the rainbow is composed of the three primary colors: blue, red, and yellow, representing the sefirot of Chesed (Lovingkindness), Gevurah (Strength/Constraint), and Tiferet (Beauty/Truth). These, in turn, symbolize the Patriarchs: Avraham, Yitzchok, and Yaakov. It is through the merit of the Patriarchs, and their self-sacrifices to bring these attributes into the world, that we are protected from the world's destruction.

However, at present, while God will keep the world from total destruction, it is mankind that is doing its utmost to destroy the world and its inhabitants. As explained in the beginning of Noach, the flood was brought about because people stole, murdered, raped, and engaged in many other barbaric behaviors. We can see similar destructive intent today with groups like Hamas and others. This is why God had to make a covenant to prevent their evil desires from coming to full fruition.

How can we avert these man-made disasters? That's a good question.

By keeping the covenant. By acting with Chesed (kindness), by exercising restraint (Gevurah) over our base desires, and by honestly manifesting the beauty (Tiferet) of our true human nature. We have the power to prevail and win the battle against evil simply by doing what is right.

May HaShem bless us all with peace and honesty, helping us recognize that it is His world, and that everything will conclude with a realization of the truth.

May Hashem truly enlighten our hearts with the joy and light of Shabbos!
