October 19, 2023 - 4 Cheshvan 5784

It's almost two weeks since Hamas abducted some 200 hostages, and we continue to daven each day for their safety and well-being. Eight senators have introduced a bipartisan resolution on behalf of the hostages - please take a moment and sign it below.

Also, see below for some news from California regarding security funding; a recording of last night's Yahalom chizuk teleconference with Rabbi Yechiel Spero, and contact info for your travel from Eretz Yisroel questions.

As the war against Hamas continues, we must continue to encourage action on Capitol Hill that supports Israel in this grave time of need. Each bill, each resolution, each letter, each statement is important.

Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), together with co-leads Senators Todd Young (R-IN), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Ben Cardin (D-MD), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and Mitt Romney (R-UT) have introduced a bipartisan Senate resolution that deserves our strong support.

S. Res. 408 condemns Hamas' brutal attacks on Israel and its taking of hostages and threatening to use them as human shields. It also demands the immediate release of all hostages, and access to medical care while still in captivity. The resolution also calls on the U.S. to lead a global campaign to join in these demands.

Please contact your senators by clicking here and urge them to cosponsor this important resolution.

Agudath Israel thanks California Governor Gavin Newsom for doubling the funding for California's Nonprofit Security Grant program and for authorizing an additional $10 Million in police protection for houses of worship.

This is an important step in ensuring the safety of Jewish communities.

Agudath Israel continues to work with federal and state governments to increase much needed security funding for nonprofits around the country.

Yahalom Chizuk and Tehillim teleconference with Rabbi Yechiel Spero.
