| By the Grace of G-d
9 Teves, 5786 Dear Mr. We are writing to you today because of a few matters of concern that we think you can help with. For starters, people of all walks of life are flocking to us for help, and we must help them! And while it's true that we've been able to help many millions already, thank G-d, but we can (and therefore must!) do so even more broadly and effectively. The world is so torn asunder, and there is so much loneliness and anxiety, so much pain and confusion, and so many feel aimless and unmoored — and we know that their answers, the path to help them each individually, awaits in the vast riches of the Torah, especially as illuminated and applied by the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of saintly memory! When literally millions of people are relying on us, we are deeply concerned about how to make more of these priceless treasures available more quickly to more people in more ways! * Conversely, we're at a bit of a loss about how to possibly convey to you the full impact of your partnership so far, and to thank you properly for all you've made happen. In simple terms, the range of people you impact is so large, and the scope of your help to them is so fantastic, that any attempt to quantify it feels futile… There's really just no way to convey how priceless and crucial you are to so many worldwide! Just in the last month, you helped millions prepare and celebrate Chanukah, and to enjoy many other of Judaism's spiritual and moral riches in eight languages! And when terrorists murdered 15 precious souls at Bondi Beach two weeks ago, you helped ensure that (instead of fear and paralysis taking hold everywhere) Chanukah's light burned more brightly than ever, and Jews celebrated Judaism even more publicly and proudly than before. This would never, ever be possible — if not for people like yourself! It's mind-boggling to think about the countless communities and individuals around the world that have been helped by your kindness. This was just in the last few weeks. Can you imagine how many people you've been helping all year long? How can we count them? How can we express appreciation for the goodness that you have done for each individual? They are more numerous than the stars! * So, how can you help? Well, for starters, you can help keep all this going — and propel its expansion — by contributing generously online to our year-end appeal: Chabad.org/give If you'd like to express your partnership with a check, you can do so here: Chabad.ORG • 770 Eastern Parkway Suite 405 • Brooklyn, NY 11213 You can also do so via PayPal, E-Check, Bank Transfer/Wire, or Other. (Please also remember Chabad.ORG in your will!) Secondly, perhaps you can suggest to some of your friends to join, too, by forwarding this email to them with your personal recommendation. There is arguably no other cause that, dollar for dollar, achieves such far-reaching impact! And finally, most importantly: think about how you can add holiness in your life. Tomorrow is a special day of fasting and reflection (see further below), making it an especially powerful time to add a mitzvah. We can study additional Torah. Pray a bit more than you have been. Modeh Ani and Shema Yisrael are good places to start. Please G-d, we look forward to reporting back to you with lots of wonderful news about your support and its results. In the name of the millions of your beneficiaries worldwide, we thank you profusely. May G-d bless you and yours! Sincerely, The Chabad.org Team P.S. Tomorrow (Tue, Dec. 30), the 10th of Tevet on the Jewish calendar, marks the anniversary of the Roman siege of Jerusalem 2,450 years ago. It is a day of fasting and repentance, during which we beseech G-d to transform our world and to restore our Holy Temple. It is also considered to be a particularly auspicious time to give charity. P.P.S. Even if you are unable to make a contribution, please don't worry! Please keep coming back to the website! Enjoy it, critique it, demand more from it... After all, isn't that the whole point of all this to begin with...?
