A short Insight into SHMUEL 2, Chapter 15 By Rabbi Nisson Dov Miller
(PLEASE LEARN FOR A RUFUA SHELAMA FOR THE GEDOLIM Rav Elyashiv -Yosef Sholom ben Chaya Musha, Rav Shteinman - Aaron Yehuda Leib ben Gitel Feiga, Rav Weiss - Yitzchak Tuvia ben Rikal, Rav Belsky - NAME ADDDED Chaim Yisroel ben Chana Tzirtel, Rav Yosef - Yaakov Chai ben Margalit And Telzer Rosh Yeshiva, Yitzchok Izak ben Trina Rivka for a refuah shleima b’soch kol cholei am Yisrael.)
The gemora in Sanhedrin (107a) says, “Rav Yehuda said in the name of Rav, 'David was ready to serve an idol. As the verse says (32), “David was approaching the summit where he would prostrate himself ...” However, Chushai Ha'arki came and said, “A king like you will serve an idol?” David responded, “A king like him (referring to himself) should have a son that [tries to] kill him?”'”
What rationale did King David latch onto that would prompt him think about at least outwardly serving an idol at this time?
