Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Short synopsis from Rabbi Travis' Shiur Today
One of our awesome Chicago Aneinu members sent the following:
Rabbi Travis gave us tremendous chizuk and support on today's Erev Rosh Chodesh Aneinu shiur. While a full synopsis and recording will be forthcoming, I think it's beneficial to get the following message out to as many people as soon as possible.
He spoke on behalf of what so many of our Gedolim are currently saying and specifically mentioned Rav Edelstein. The primary message we must internalize is as follows: if we feel hurt or slighted in ANY way by another person, it is our personal avodah to recognize that the pain we feel is tailor made for us and is coming DIRECTLY from Hashem. That person just happens to be Hashem's Shaliach and they have their own chesbon. Our job is not to focus on them. Instead, we have to focus on ourselves. Sinas Chinam is the reason we are still in Galus and the best way to eliminate it, is to search within our own hearts and eliminate any feelings of ill will towards others in Am Yisrael. This battle is not about capturing the temple mount – it's about clearing out our hearts. This leaves room for the Shechina to rest there and we can then become United as One Nation.
