Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Please Say your Tehillim on Shabbos
BS"D
Dear Aneinu Members,
I hope that you all had a beautiful and uplifting Pesach! After preparing for weeks and weeks, in the blink of an eye, it is gone, but it's effects stay with us, buried deep in our neshamos. Although we may not realize it, we are not the same people we were before Pesach. We have all experienced Yetzias Mitzrayim, and we are now new beings imbued with more kedusha, and more emunah. Every night when we count the omer, we continue our spiritual climb, trying to rectify our middos to become better people, so that we will be ready to receive the Torah on Shavuos.
This is the life of a Jew. Hashem set up our calendar so that we can never become complacent. Our lives are filled with constant growth and spiritual striving. As soon as we finish yontiff there is always Shabbos, or Rosh Chodesh, or a fast day, or another yontiff. Hashem is constantly prodding us to keep going; to keep climbing another mountain. As long as we have the gift of life, we must continue to climb the ladder, the ladder that our father Yaakov dreamt of so many years ago. Sometimes we miss a rung and end up falling, but we don't allow that to get us down. We just continue climbing up again. One day, the time will come when we will all climb over the top, and we will all be awestruck at what we have accomplished. The geulah will arrive and the world will be filled with light, and beauty, and peace, and Hashem will smile at us and say, "I knew you could do it!"
Please remember to say your Tehillim this Shabbos! B"H the days are longer, but It is still perfectly fine to say your Tehillim on Friday night. You may check the Shabbos Tehillim spreadsheet if you are unsure which kappitlach you signed up for.
Wishing you all a peaceful Shabbos,
Chaya Miriam
