It is the birthday of the Chasidic movement, marking the birth of the "two great luminaries" -- Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi -- founders, respectively, of the general and Chabad Chasidic movements. The teachings of the Alter Rebbe and subsequent Chabad Rebbes, continue to grow and thrive till this very day, informing and inspiring the world with the legacy of the Baal Shem Tov.
