Update on Dov Berish ben Chaya

The Koach of Tefillos is awe-inspiring!  Dov Berish ben Chaya is up to 16 hours off the ventilator. Bezras Hashem the medical team will try to take him off for 24 hours this week.  Keep davening! Tizku L'mitzvos and Besoros Tovos for ALL of Klal Yisroel.

Today,as I said Kapitel כו which equals the  שם ה  as a zechus for Refuah Shlaima for Dov Berish ben Chaya , I want to give Shevach V'Hodaah to HKBH who is "הכל יכול".

Three weeks ago the hospital was unable to wean the ventilator. Two weeks ago they tried again and were not successful.

 I received a special phone call from my niece and nephew this week with an awe-inspiring update. A week ago they were told about a relative of theirs who runs a program in EY for being ready for Shabbos (cooking/cleaning etc) early. She has a call in number with tips and has a raffle for participants. 1324 participants signed up last Erev Shabbos, Shabbos Shira,  to be ready early at 1pm as a zechus for a refuah shlaima for dov Berish ben Chaya.

On Sunday, Chaya was in the hospital and was informed they were going to trial Dov Berish off the ventilator with just oxygen. She was shocked! Chasdei Hashem he tolerated almost 2 hours. On Monday Chaya kept talking to him and telling him that it was Tu B Shvat, the Rosh Hashana for trees and אדם כעץ השדה so it was like RH for him. She told him that in the zechus of the אתרג (which some have a minhag to eat on Tu B Shvat)  whose Roshei Tavos represent אמונה תשובה רפואה גאולה, that with our אמונה  and the zechuyos of  the תשובה and Tefillos, Tehillim and extra hours of Shabbos- Dov Berish will have a רפואה שלמה and גאולה בקרוב.  He tolerated 4 hours with just oxygen, no ventilator. On Tues, he tolerated 4 hours without  oxygen. And on Weds he tolerated 6 hours not only without oxygen but also able to cough on his own and not needing suctioning.

So many of Klal Yisroel have been a part of this Neis, this glimmer of hope for the family.  And they are SO appreciative of it. Chaya again asked me to express their Hakoras HaTov for every Kapitel Tehillim and tefilla said for their son.

May the zechus of the tehillim, tefillos and mitzvos done  enable Dov Berish Ben Chaya to continue this process and may HKBH grant him a complete Refuah B'Karov. May we be able to share news of him becoming responsive and having a neurologic recovery.

A gut Shabbos and may all of Klal Yisroel be zochim to refuos, yeshuos and nechamos.

Please continue to daven for Dov Berish ben Chaya. Chasdei Hashem it was a week without fever which enabled the doctors to move him to a ventilator unit that does rehab. They are trying to figure out difficulty with tolerating tube feedings as well as doing tiny weans on the ventilator. His neurological status remains tough with no improvement in last few weeks.  His mother said that the family feels how all of Klal Yisroel is with them and that it is very helpful. She asked me to please thank everyone for their tefillos.

May HKBH answer all tefillos of Klal Yisroel L'Tovah and say די לצרותינו.

Update from my brother yesterday: Put in G-tube for feeding so tubes out of mouth ( has trach for ventilator aka respirator) Trying to start weaning ventilator to see if Dov Berish can breath on his own at all. Chasdei Hashem. Everyone's tefillos are making a difference from the bleak updates at beginning to those of past two weeks. It's been 6 weeks since the accident.

We went to visit Dov Berish in ICU in hospital. BH he is stable after procedure today. Will keep monitoring for bleeding. I showed my niece Chaya the WhatsApp group and also told her how many people were davening for Dov Berish and asking about him. She repeatedly asked me to relay how much chizuk this gives her and the family. She said every tefilla is what has gotten him this far. Bezras Hashem he should have a complete Refuah.

Please continue to daven for Dov Berish Ben Chaya  (nephew of Chani Cherrick) who is still in critical condition after being hit by a car. He will be having another procedure to stop the bleeding in his brain tonight at 11:30 pm Chicago time, 7:30 am Israel time. 

Please daven that the bleeding stop and that he has a refuah shlema.
