(PLEASE LEARN FOR A REFUA SHELAMA FOR HARAV YOSEF SHALOM BEN CHAYA MUSHA)
In verse three of our chapter, the officers of the Philistines inquire of Achish, “What are these Hebrews [doing here with you]?”
Achish responds, “Is this not David, the servant of Shaul, King of Israel, who has been with me for these days or these years, and I have not found “m'umah” with him from the day he encamped [with me] until this very day.”
In order to understand this term, “m'umah”, the Ramban compares it to the same term used by Paroh with reference to Yosef.
When the Chumash is describing the favor and trust that Yosef found in the eyes of Paroh, the verse states, “He (Paroh) left all that he had in Yosef's custody and with him present he concerned himself with nothing except for the bread he ate.”
