All of us were holding our breath today, waiting to hear whether the body that was returned last night was that of Lt. Hadar Goldin HY'D. And it has been verified, that after 11 long years the remains of Lt. Hadar Goldin HY'D are now in Eretz Yisrael and can have kever Yisrael. Hadar was murdered in a heavy battle in the war Protective Edge, (Tzok Eitan) 11 years ago and his body was taken by Hamas to Gaza. This is a tremendous neis, miracle, as all efforts up until now to retrieve his body have been unsuccessful for all these years. His family can finally have closure.

Since I last wrote, the remains of these have also been released:

Lior ben Giora (Rudaeff), security chief of Kibbutz Nir Yitzchak

Staff Sgt. Itai ben Refael (Chen), soldier

Itai Chen was a tank commander and on Oct. 7th, under the command of Daniel Peretz, HY'D, they fought hundreds of terrorists trying to protect the Nir Oz base. One of their comrades was killed and stayed in Israel and the bodies of Itai Chen and Daniel Peretz were taken to Gaza. The fourth member of their tank, Matan Angrest, was taken alive as a hostage and was released on October 15th Baruch Hashem.

My list began with over 200 names and now there are just 3 Jews whose bodies remain in Gaza. May their remains also be released and have the merit of a Jewish burial.

The list is updated - at the top of the list are those that were released in the October 15th deal and you can daven for their refuah shelemah.
